Officer becomes running buddy to child frightened by police car

NORTH OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 News) An officer’s kindness was captured on camera Friday.

North Ogden Police Department received a call about a found child. When Officer Armstrong responded, he learned the child was afraid to ride in the police vehicle and would rather walk home.

Thinking that was boy’s home was nearby, Officer Armstrong decided to walk with him to make sure he got home safely. Then he realized the boy liked to jog.

They began to jog, and Officer Armstrong ran alongside him until he was safely home. Once they arrived, Officer Armstrong discovered the boy lived in a neighboring city!

The department shared the photo and thanked Officer Armstrong for showing compassion and making a connection with the younger generation.
