October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. SHARE Parents of Utah is a local support group available for families who have experienced the death of a child. They joined us in studio to talk more about their organization.
“Many parents find that it helps to talk with another parent who has experienced the loss of a baby – someone who can listen, completely understand, and be able to identify with some of their feelings,” they said.
SHARE Parents of Utah does a number of things to help families. They hold support groups, provide mementos, have monthly activities and a variety of other services.
On Saturday, Oct. 7th the 22nd annual Walk for Remembrance and Hope will take place. The walk is held rain or shine at 1:30 p.m.at the International Peace Garden. There will be name readings and doves released in honor of all babies gone too soon.
They organizations wants families to know they are not alone and to help them work through their grief.
Just knowing that your experience is valid … and that you are not alone … can be beneficial in working through your grief.
