North Ogden selects department veteran as new police chief

NORTH OGDEN, Utah (News4Utah) – North Ogden City officially named its new chief of police Tuesday.

Mayor Brent Chugg announced the promotion of Lt. Dirk Quinney to the Chief of Police.

Quinney started his law enforcement career with North Ogden City more than 22 years ago.

“Chief Quinney has an exceptionally strong work ethic which includes the utmost in professionalism, respect, and dependability,” said North Ogden City in a news release. 

Chugg said Quinney’s commitment to the community and the department will allow him to “continue providing the level of service that the North Ogden Police Department has always been proud to provide to the citizens of North Ogden City.”
