SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) The Nihon Matsuri Festival is headed to Salt Lake City this weekend.
This year’s festival features special art and artifacts from the Allen Hendershott Eaton Collection that include objects from campsites of Japanese Americans during WWII.
Also at the festival will be traditional Japanese lion dancing in costume, Taiko drummers, Martial Arts demonstrations, food and crafts, and more! The entire festival is presented by Utah’s Japanese American community and is a fascinating and fun cultural event in our community.
Festival spokesperson Floyd Mori, along with some of the festival’s Taiko drummers, joined ABC4 News at 4 with a preview.
The 13th Annual Nihon Matsuri Japan Festival is on Saturday, April 27th from 10a.m.-5p.m. on Japantown Street with free admission.
