New Unified Fire Department recruits begin training

MAGNA (ABC4 News) – The Unified Fire Department began training for new firefighter recruits on Sunday, February 3. 

New firefighters are required to take and pass a written test and a physical test.

The first few days of training are centered around safety and technique with firefighting equipment.

Monday, the new recruits got to know their firefighting uniforms as well as the gear on the truck. Soon they’ll move on to more advanced techniques that involve training with real fire scenarios.
