ACCRA, Ghana (ABC4 Utah) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says visitors are invited to attend an open house at the newly completed Ghana LDS Missionary Training Center.
Now through August 12, visitors can tour the facility and no ticket is required. The new MTC will be dedicated on October 24.
The original MTC was built in 2002 in Tema, Ghana, and could fit about 90 missionaries. With the growing LDS Church presence in Africa, church leaders decided to build a larger MTC next to the Accra Ghana Temple.
The new MTC can house 320 missionaries, and there’s room to add on to accommodate 500 if needed.
The Ghana MTC used the same design features of the newly opened Provo, Utah MTC, such as the artwork, color scheme and architectural design.
