SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – A new exhibit is opening at Tracy Aviary.

On Thursday, the Aviary invited the media and public to an open house to introduce a new female eagle, announce the status on a botanical garden and to showcase the new Eagle Ridge exhibit.

According to the press release, “Eagle Ridge will incorporate an interactive play area with bird-themed features such as a replica eagle nest, basket nest swings and a tree slide near the Bird Feeder Cafe. The new exhibit displays two female bald eagles, one male golden eagle, and one female golden eagle.”

Liberty, a female bald eagle that was introduced earlier in May is said to be “assimilating well” into her new home at the Eagle Ridge Exhibit.

“The new eagle exhibit is designed to place our eagles at a higher elevation, which helps the eagles feel more comfortable and caters to their existing wing injuries. Guests will have a unique view of our eagles along with pelican island and the pond,” Kate Lyngle-Cowand, curator of exhibit collection, said at the event.
