SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A first tonight in Salt Lake. There is now a residental shrine to Buddha on 9th East.
It was dedicated this afternoon. Anyone is free to stop by, perhaps for a moment of inner peace. It is at 1917 South on 9th East.
Buddha on 9th is the official name of the shrine.
“This is something to bring people together, especially given our present political and social climate,” Michael Mugaku Zimmerman told Good4Utah. “Having something that somebody is offering to the public and having a place they can come to for any reason is a nice thing.”
Zimmerman is the former Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. There are other shrines on 9th East: a Virgin Mary shrine near 15th South and a Dinosaur shrine near 9th South.
