AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A new sandy beach has opened in Utah County just in time for Memorial Weekend.

Jet skis, party boats, pedal boats, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks and trikes. You name it and this new beach in American Fork has it.
“These are one of my favorites,” Pride Smith, Good Life Rentals, told ABC4 Utah. “Teens and college students love to get on these and just get out and stroll around. It’s like the date day play toys.” You can visit for a full list of services.
According to the press release, “Crews hauled in more than 800 tons of fine grain sand to create a soft landing spot for weekend water sports.”
American Fork City provided the land and purchased all the sand. A group of volunteers then cleaned up the beach area and covered the tree-lined waterfront with 35 dump truck loads of ocean quality sand.
“This is the fastest growing recreation area in the state,” said Ryan Walz, Owner of Marian Cove Storage, the sponsor of the new beach. “This is going to be a busy time for us with the deep clean snow runoff and the hot spring weather.”
“Yesterday we had a great turn out of people that just came and hung out on the beach. Even before some of our announcements went out they were already down here. Kids playing in the sand, building sand castles and whatever else that’s around,” Smith said.
Walz also offers a butler service. Customers can call ahead and find their boat docked at the harbor and ready for them to head out on the lake.
Take the Pleasant Grove Exit on I-15 and drive west, then turn left on 6000 West.
