NEPHI, Utah (News4Utah) – A man was stabbed multiple times after trying to stop a domestic dispute in Nephi on Saturday.
Police said they were called to a home at 80 North 600 East at about 6 p.m. after they say 26-year-old Bryan Berdell Terry stabbed a man when he got involved in a dispute between Terry and his wife.
According to police, Terry became angry and hit his wife with a closed fist. A friend intervened and told Terry to stop. Terry then went into the house and then came back out yelling that he was going to stab someone and “someone was going to die” that night.
Terry then stabbed the victim five times with a serrated steak knife, once in each arm, twice in the
upper torso, and once on the side of the lower abdomen.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated. Medical personnel indicated the knife had missed critical arteries and the victim wa lucky.
Police said Terry has prior domestic violence convictions within the previous five years.
He is being held in the Juab County Jail.
