NAACP sends condolences for the passing of Robert ‘Archie’ Archuleta

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peoples shared its condolences to the family of Robert “Archie” Archuleta following his passing.

Jeanetta Williams, President, NAACP Salt Lake Branch and President of the NAACP Tri-State Conference of Idaho-Nevada-Utah upon hearing of the passing of her friend said, “Archie was such a kind and caring person and was relentless in his quest for civil rights.”

Archie received the NAACP Salt Lake Branch’s Annual Albert Fritz Civil Rights Award in October 2017.

Williams also said, “Archie and I worked together on civil rights issues and spoke out at the discrimination rally, Salt Lake School Board meetings, on support of Planned Parenthood, the unveiling of the Harvey Milk street sign and many other events. Archie will be missed.”
