Motorcyclist dead after head on crash with semi on Highway 6

Local News

HIGHWAY 6, Utah (ABC4 News) – A motorcycle rider is dead after colliding with a tractor-trailer on Highway 6 Thursday night.

At 10:45 p.m. an eastbound motorcycle with a lone rider crossed the centerline on US 6 near milepost 296, crashing into a westbound tractor-trailer in the area “head -on style”, according to troopers.

Troopers say the rider of the motorcycle died on scene from injuries he sustained in the crash.

Both eastbound and westbound directions of US-6 were completely closed for about four hours after a fire that officials say destroyed the semi and its cargo as a result of the crash.

Troopers say alcohol, prescription drugs, and windy weather conditions are all possible factors in the crash.
