DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A mother and her two children had to be rescued after falling from a trail Saturday morning in Davis County.

According to Sgt. Christopher Pope, Davis County Sheriff’s Office, the mom was with her two kids ages 6 and 8 and were hiking up Davis Creek Trail just east of Farmington at 11:25 a.m.

Pope said the dirt along that trail is soft and they were walking along the edge when the dirt caved out from under them. All three fell down the embankment about 7-10 feet. Unable to get back up, rescue was called to help the family.

Pope said no one was seriously injured.

As of 1 p.m. Davis County Search and Rescue have been called to help rescue others 3 times already today. Pope just wants to remind others to be careful when enjoying outdoor activities.
