Local News

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah(News4Utah) Today, a national mortgage company is giving back to America’s Veterans. One way they’re doing it is through something called, ‘The American Warrior Initiative.’ You can see it for yourself today in Ogden. Aaron Flowers from Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, joined Brian Carlson, to explain.

Fairway Independent Mortgage is relatively new to Utah, and is licensed in all 50 states. It’s been ranked #1 by its loan officers for 4 years in a row.

The American Warrior Initiative has reached over 20,000 realtors all around the country, hoping to bring awareness to the challenges facing our Veterans returning from war. The company has spearheaded over 100 give-back initiatives to the wounded heroes of America.

100% of the funds raised will go to AWI. You can also buy a shirt for $22, symbolizing the 22 Veterans that commit suicide every single day.

Today’s event will be held at the Washington Heights Church in South Ogden from 12:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. If you’re a Realtor seeking education on how to help Veterans find a home, those classes will go until 3:30 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m., guests will hear from the keynote speaker, Sean Parnell. Parnell is a Purple Heart Army Ranger and a New York Times Best Selling Author. A special Veteran grant will also be given.
