SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – The John A. Moran Eye Center Surgeons set to help restore hope and vision to Utahns in need of care.

John A. Moran physicians performed free cataract removal surgery for refuges, the homeless and low-income residents at the biannual Operation Sight Day.

Doctors identified 18 Operation Sight patients through charitable health clinics across Utah. “It’s important that we, as a community working together, step up to fill access gaps in our health care system,” said Jeff Pettey, MD, outreach division co-medical director.

Operation Sights 2019 sponsor was Grandeur Peak Global Advisors of Salt Lake City. The Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City, the St. George Eye Center and Trent Richards, MD, of the Tanner Clinic in Davis County also worked to restore vision to additional patients in partnership with Moran.

The Moran Eye Center alone has restored sight to nearly 200 Utahns through Operation Sight and have no plans of stopping.
