BOSIE, Idaho (ABC4 News) – When you think of life in Idaho a multi-million dollar home isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. A $7.75 million estate with a breathtaking view is diminishing assumptions of potatoes fields and farm houses.
The estate sits at the edge of Boise’s Ridge and is the second most expensive listing in the state of Idaho. The mansion serves as a major attraction of the residents of Boise.
Residents speculate that the massive home belongs to someone famous. Listing agent Eric Debord busts the myth, the mansion has no star power behind it.
GALLERY PICS OF HOME:
The mansion is owned by a wealthy businessman with no A-list connections. The current owners live in San Francisco and vacation at the Idaho home.
After purchasing the property, the owners enlisted well-known Boise architect Try Hoff to bring their mountainside haven to life.
Enormous boulders lined all the way around the home, they couldn’t be moved or blasted away so Hoff and his team built around them. Resulting in an estate blending in with the land it emerged from.
Potential buyers are attracted to the home for its hillside view. The home is the only hillside home in the area. Debord says the city of Boise has been aggressive in buying as much hillside space as they can to keep the land open and undeveloped.
The 60 acres that surround the estate is bordered by federal, city and county lands that are likely to remain undeveloped, make the home the only one in the city with the expansive view.
