Man on drugs chased by police
DRAPER, Utah (News4Utah) – According to Draper Police, a man on drugs threatened customers at a restaurant with a gun, lead police on a chase, then kicked out the back window of a patrol car and jumped out, before he was taken to jail.
It started around 1:00 a.m. on Monday at a restaurant near 12300 South and 400 East in Draper. That’s where Draper Police say the suspect stood outside of the restaurant with a gun and threatened the people inside. When police were called to the scene, the suspect took off running.
Police say they finally caught the 21-year-old and took him to the hospital before they took him to jail.
On the way to the jail, police say the suspect kicked out the back window of the patrol car, jumped out and tried to escape near 3300 South on I-15.
The suspect was taken to jail. Although police determined the gun he used was fake, the suspect faces a long list of charges.
