Man stabbed multiple times in possible intentional attack in Murray

MURRAY, Utah – (News4utah) – Police are looking for a suspect who stabbed a man multiple times in Murray Saturday night. 

Murray Police Sgt. Marvin Barlow said they were called to the area of 4500 South 500 West on a stabbing at about 11:50 p.m. The victim was walking back to his apartment from a gas station when someone approached him and The victim said he was pepper sprayed in the face and stabbed him several times in the neck, shoulder and arm. 

It is believed that the man was targeted as the suspect called out the victim’s name but the victim is not able to identify who the man is. 

The wounds are not life-threatening. It is not known if the man was taken to the hospital or treated on scene.

A search of the area was initiated but because there are a lot of people that are in this area, and a high number of transients, police believe the K-9 was not able to accurately pick up on the man’s scent. 

Barlow said they are still trying to work with the victim identifying the suspect.
