Man shot, killed in Pleasant Grove

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (News4Utah) – A man is dead after a shooting in Pleasant Grove Friday evening.

It happened at 1373 West 3040 North just before 6 p.m.

Pleasant Grove police said a 50-year-old man showed up to his sibling’s home with a sledgehammer and claw hammer.

Police indicated there is a history between the homeowner and the man. He had been cited for trespassing on the property before.

After a short altercation with a family member, police said the man was shot once in the chest. 

He was taken to a hospital in American Fork where he later died of his injuries.

Police have not released the identities of those involved.  The situation is being investigated as a homicide.
