Man shot in stomach during domestic dispute in Hurricane, police say

HURRICANE, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man is in surgery after he was shot in the stomach during a custody domestic dispute in Hurricane Saturday.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. near 3700 West and 165 North when police say they responded to reports of a man who was shot in the stomach.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found that the man who was shot got to the residence where a custody/ domestic dispute happened between him and several other people.

During the argument, police say the man who was shot lunged at another male with an object in his hand. The second man believed the man that lunged at him had a weapon in his hand.

The second male subject reportedly pulled a handgun and fired one shot striking the other male in the stomach.

The man who was shot was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center where he is currently undergoing surgery, according to police.

Officer and investigators say they are still speaking with witnesses and collecting evidence.
