Man shot in leg after drive-by shooting at Taylorsville apartment

Local News

TAYLORSVILE, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man is in fair condition after being shot during a drive-by shooting in Taylorsville.

The 18-year-old victim was in the parking lot of Callaway Apartments on 1116 West Putters Circle, according to officials.

Neighbors heard gunshots and found an 18-year-old man bleeding on the stairs. He was rushed to the hospital and is in fair condition, according to Unified Police.

“Our victim, of course, went into surgery last night so they have to wait until he comes down of that anesthesia before they can interview him,” Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray said.

Investigators say the victim didn’t get a good look at who pulled the trigger but said it came from a gold-colored sedan, possibly a Cadillac, with several people inside.

Police aren’t sure if it’s gang-related.

“Horrible if this young man was the intended victim who was hit. Oftentimes in these, we see completely innocent bystanders that are struck by gunfire,” Sgt. Gray said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Unified Police.
