VERNAL, Utah (News4 Utah) – One man is dead, another in custody, after a shooting near Vernal on Saturday night.
Sandra Barker-Yi, spokesperson for the Salt Lake City FBI, said the shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on when a 36-year-old member of the Ute Indian Tribe shot allegedly shot and killed a 55-year old man from Vernal.
The shooting occurred on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation. The suspect is in tribal custody.
Barker-Yi said the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are investigating. Due to the ongoing nature of the case, no other information will be released at this time.
