Man involved in deadly hit-and-run booked on automobile homicide charges

UPDATE: Hendricks was booked on Friday, January 5th. 

WEBER COUNTY (News4Utah)- Officials in Weber County have issued an arrest warrant for the man they say is behind a hit-and-run crash that left a 32-year-old Layton woman dead.

Amber Lawrence of Layton was killed in November after police say the suspect, Derek Lyle Hendricks, hit her car while going over 100 mph and then took off. 

It happened near 4400 West 1150 South in unincorporated Weber County.

Police say Hendricks is being charged with negligence automobile homicide, DUI, driving with an open container, and accident causing property damage. They say he was last known to live in the Layton area.
