SANDY, Utah (News4Utah) – Unified Police have identified the 42-year-old man that was killed a retaining wall collapse in Sandy Friday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Vicente Santoyo of Salt Lake City.
Unified Police were dispatched to 2791 Ksel Drive in Sandy around 2 p.m. on report of an industrial accident.
Contractors were working behind a home when they say the ground gave way, knocked a retaining wall down and crushed a worker. Santoyo man died on scene.
Unified police are working with Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials to stabilize the ground, so they can conduct their investigation.
