Man hit and killed while crossing street in Layton identified

LAYTON, Utah (ABC4 News)- Police in Layton have identified the man hit and killed while crossing the street in Layton Tuesday night. 

Police said the incident happened in the area of 1650 N. Hill Field Rd. in Layton. 

The victim, identified as 34-year-old man Marcus McGaha, of Layton, was not in the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Hill Field Road. 

McGaha died at the scene.  

Police said the driver is cooperating with their investigation.

A vigil is being held for friends and family of McGaha Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Fox Creek Apartments 1656 N Hillfield Road in Layton.
