Man found dead after SWAT incident in Provo

UPDATE: After police used tear gas inside the home, a drone and robot were sent in to search for the suspect. Officials confirm they found the suspect dead in the master bedroom.

UPDATE: Officials confirm a warrant has been acquired to enter the house. SWAT is moving in Sunday morning around 11:30a.m.

PROVO, Utah (News4Utah) – A male barricaded himself inside his home after firing several shots and threatening to kill his wife in Provo Sunday morning.

Detective Nick Dupaix with the Provo Police Department said the incident started early Sunday at a home near 1700 South 600 West. The man’s wife escaped after he fired the gun at her several times.  

Negotiators are on scene trying to remove the man from the home. SWAT is responding Detective Depaix says.
