HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) –  Police are looking for two people involved in a package theft and attempted criminal homicide.

Police say the incident happened late Wednesday morning on the 5200 South block of Ambermount Drive in Herriman.

A passerby saw a suspected package theft in progress. The witness took photos of the suspect car and the driver. After a male suspect returned to a white early 2000s Chevy Impala with the presumed stolen packages, he and a female suspect left the area.

To get more suspect information to give to police, the witness followed the suspect’s car out of the neighborhood and onto Juniper Crest Road. Police say after a while, the male suspect leaned out of the passenger side window and fired one round at the witness with a semi-automatic handgun.

The shot was fired at 14806 South Juniper Crest Road. Police say the witness was not hit and they stopped following the suspect.

Suspect descriptions

  • White female with long dark brown hair wearing a black sweat shirt or hoodie with a green hood.
  • Vehicle: Early 2000s Chevrolet Impala egg shell white with a green and blue colored out of state license plate

Police have released these photos in hopes that the public can help track them down. Detectives say they should be considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information you’re asked to call 801-743-7000.
