SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – A Utah man was charged with voyeurism after an incident at a Salt Lake County clothing store.

Jorge Luis Leon-Alfaro, 36, is accused of spying on a 13-year-old girl while she was in a dressing room at Rue 21.

On August 18, police were called to the store, located at 1140 Brickyard Road, after the girl’s mother caught Leon-Alfaro allegedly looking at her daughter while she was trying on clothes.

According to the probable cause statement, a Rue 21 employee said she saw Leon-Alfaro taking his phone away from under the changing room stall.

The mom chased the man out of the store and into the parking lot as she called the police. Security and others helped detain the man until officers arrived. The mom, angry and upset because of the incident, posted video online and it quickly went viral. It has been viewed more than 17 million times.

The girl’s mother, Doris Styles, spoke to News4Utah about the ordeal

Leon-Alfaro was eventually charged with two counts of voyeurism. He also faces a charge of sexual battery after he allegedly grabbed a young girl inappropriately at USANA Amphitheatre earlier this month.
