RICH COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A man is dead after what officials are calling a boating accident at Bear Lake.

Rich County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the docks in the Rainbow Cove are of Bear Lake on a reported boating accident Monday morning.

Utah State Park personnel responded and found Robert B. Doman, 69, of Morgan County unresponsive at the waters edge.

Park officials say Doman was stepping from his boat to the dock when he slipped and fell into the water. Another visitor heard the splash and cries for help and saw Doman faced down in the water.

That person pulled Doman from the water and performed CPR until park and medical personnel arrived to assist.

Efforts to revive Doman were unsuccessful and was pronounced dead at the scene.
