SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC4 News) – One man is dead after an altercation inside an apartment in South Salt Lake Tuesday afternoon.

According to South Salt Lake Police spokesperson Gary Keller, officers were called to a report of a man who had possibly been stabbed at 3401 S 200 East around 11:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found a 52-year-old man unconscious and not breathing. Efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Keller said preliminary investigation appears to show there was an altercation inside the apartment between the man and two other people, a woman and another man.

Keller said they were not able to find any stab wounds and are currently unsure of exactly what happened, but consider the man’s death suspicious.

They interviewed the woman who was involved and eventually spoke with the other man who left the apartment. Police say he is cooperating with the investigation.
