VERNAL, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man is dead after being T-boned in Vernal Monday morning.
The crash happened at US 40 at MP 131, about 11 miles west of Vernal. Sgt. Nick Street with the Utah Highway Patrol says a Chrysler Sebring was T-boned by a GMC Denali.
Sgt. Street said witnesses saw the driver of the Chrysler leave the road and come back perpendicular in the road. The GMC hit the car from the side, killing the Chrysler driver, Sgt. Street said.
The two passengers in the GMC left the scene immediately after. Sgt. Street says one of them had a $25,000 warrant out for their arrest.
The two were located later Monday morning. Officials say they were taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries and will later be booked into jail.
Sgt. Street said there was heavy smog that might have been a contributing factor to the crash.
