SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday after police found thousands of files of child pornography on multiple devices inside the man’s home.

According to arresting documents, detectives noticed an IP address file known to contain child pornography on December 15, 2018.

During the course of their investigation, detectives were able to obtain information that the IP address belonged to a Jesus Nielsen, 48, residing in Salt Lake, documents state.

Arresting documents revealed that on Monday, the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children task force executed a search warrant at the suspect’s address. No one was home at the time, but detectives contacted Nielsen at his place of employment, and he was transported back to his home.

After being read his rights, Nielsen admitted to using a peer-to-peer program to download and view child sexual exploitation material and he had been viewing this content for over 20 years, documents state.

He denied ever physically touching any child.

According to documents, thousands of pictures and videos were found on several different devices in the home during the execution of the search warrant. The files of child sexual exploitation materials ranged from infants to teenagers, but mostly female children.

Police also found numerous sketch pads of nude prepubescent females in Nielsen’s bedroom and living room. Nielsen admitted to drawing these pictures to “get rid of his urges”, documents state.

Police said thousands of the files showed boys and girls from 2-6 years of age being sexually abused by both men and women, according to documents.

Nielsen was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on 10 counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor. His bail was set at $250.000.
