COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (News4Utah) – A 20-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon after police said he broke into a woman’s home in broad daylight.

The homeowner said she was getting out of the shower when she heard a crashing sound.

The suspect had gone through the back door of her house when her kids had gone outside to play.

"Mama Bear came out." SueEllen Cummings confronted a man she said broke into her home Friday, May 11, 2018.

SueEllen Cummings said she confronted the intruder.

“I just yelled at him as he was coming out of our living room and just said — …’Why are you in my home?’…and he just responded it’s none of your concern and he kept walking,” said Cummings.

Cottonwood Heights Police Department says a four-minute response time lead to the man’s capture as he was leaving the neighborhood.

“He was walking around the road, but his shorts were around his ankles, so he obviously had some sort of issues going on,” said Sgt. Ryan Shosted with Cottonwood Heights Police.

Police later identified the suspect as Keaton Boyce.
