ST. GEORGE, Utah (News4Utah) – A man was arrested in Moab Saturday in connection with the death of St. George women. Elizabeth Carter.

The body of Elizabeth Carter was found in her apartment on 500 North Bluff Street on June 13. The condition of her apartment and suspicious circumstances began a quick investigation.

Evidence and information developed over the course of the hours and days following the discovery.

The Investigations Division of the St. George Police Department worked pursuing leads, witnesses, and physical evidence.

A person of interest was quickly developed and physical evidence continued to build a foundation to believe Elizabeth was killed by Kevin Ray Mcatlin.

Friday afternoon / evening enough evidence was obtained to apply for, and receive, an arrest warrant for Kevin Mcatlin.

Kevin was located early Saturday, June 16, in the Moab area and was taken into custody on the arrest warrant.

Evidence is still being processed and work continues on the case.

Officials say they are not releasing any more information at this time.
