Man arrested for sexual assault of 17-year-old co-worker in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police have arrested an Eagle Mountain man for felony sexual assault of a 17-year-old after the victim told police he forced himself on her while at work.

Officers responded to a business on Wednesday in Saratoga Springs on a report of a sexual assault.

A 17-year-old girl told officers who reported she had been assaulted by an adult male coworker, identified as 42-year-old Udeme Udodong.

The girl said she was in the store with the suspect when he asked her to come help him clean the back room. While in the back the victim said Udodong pressed her tight to his body, began touching her under her clothing and continued to sexually assault her.

The female victim said she kept asking him to stop and struggled to get away but managed to eventually break free and call police. Udodong kept asking her to go into the bathroom with her, but she refused.

During an interview with police, Udodong admitted to touching the victim and said he was sorry for what he had done.

Police believe he is a flight risk because he is not from Utah, does not have any family here comes from Nigeria. He said he is trying to get his wife and three children into the country.

He was booked into the Utah County Jail on second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse. His bail is currently set at $15,000.
