SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A 31-year-old man was arrested after police said he showed up at a location to meet a 13-year-old he thought was going to perform sexual acts on him.
According to arresting documents, Kevin Edward Cote, had been talking with whom he thought was a 13-year-old he had met online.
During the conversation, Cote had asked the 13-year-old if they would perform sex acts on him, documents state.
When Cote showed up to the location where he was to meet the teen, he was greeted by police.
Documents further stated police found an active police scanner inside Cote’s vehicle when he was taken into custody.
Cote was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on one count second-degree felony enticing a minor by internet or text.
A background check of Cote only showed one misdemeanor charge, criminal mischief, in 2011.
