Man accused of threatening to kill pregnant girlfriend

PROVO, Utah (News4Utah) – A man was arrested after police said he kidnaped, assaulted and threatened to kill his pregnant girlfriend.

Police said Jeremy Rodriguez was arguing with the victim about her pregnancy. When she tried to leave, police said Rodriguez jumped in her car, physically assaulted her and then started driving south on the highway.

Police said Rodriguez told the victim that he was driving her to a field to kill her.

When the vehicle got to a Springville gas station the victim jumped out and started yelling for help.

Rodriguez faces aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.
