Man accused of threatening store employee with knife hides from police in parent’s home

RIVERTON, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Unified police surrounded a home where a man believed to have threatened a ShopKo employee with a knife Monday morning was hiding.

Police took 32-year-old Christopher Robert Ainslie into custody after about a 3-hour standoff. Investigators say he was also wanted on a felony probation.

They say Ainslie threatened a woman working at the Taylorsville ShopKo located at 5800 South Redwood Road with a knife and then took off.

Around noon Monday police tracked the suspect to his parent’s home in Riverton. Ainslie was eventually taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported.
