SANDY (News4Utah)- A man is behind bars after police say he pointed a weapon at a 7-Eleven clerk and took off with cigarettes and money from the register.
The robbery was reported on August 31st at 10580 South 700 East in Sandy.
Police say the clerk called 911 after the suspect took off. He told police the suspect was a Hispanic male wearing a blue bandana.
While searching the area, officers say they noticed a blue Chevy car driving northbound on 700 East. When they began following the car, they say the driver sped off.
A chase ensued. Officers say they saw two Hispanic men take off on foot.
One of the suspects now identified as Roman Solis, was captured by an officer on foot. The other suspect was captured shortly after by a K9 officer, according to the police report. He has been identified as Adrian Gonzalez.
Solis was the man suspected of entering the 7-Eleven. He was booked on charges of aggravated robbery and failure to stop at the command of law enforcement.
Police say they found a black airsoft pistol, bear spray, a large amount of loose cash, one carton of cigarettes, and red gloves inside the Chevy. More cash, cigarettes, a blue bandana, and a crack pipe were also found along the path where the suspects were running.
