Man accused of raping teenager on UTA bus

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – A Utah man faces felony charges after Utah Transit Authority police said he raped a teenage girl on a bus to Salt Lake City.

Eligah Johnson, 35, faces rape and sodomy charges.

Police said he and the 16-year-old girl both boarded the UTA bus from Ogden to Salt Lake back in December 2017. 

Police said he sat next to her in the back of the bus and forced himself on her.

Due to the nature of the charges, Johnson’s bail was set at $100,000.
