SANDY (News4Utah)- Police in Sandy are asking the public for help identifying a man accused of exposing himself to a 9-year-old boy over the weekend.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Shops at South Town.
Police say the suspect pulled down his pants and exposed himself to the child in the restroom.
“While his pants were down the male told the child to ‘come closer’,” police said.
The boy ran out of the restroom and pointed out the suspect to his mom, a press release said.
Officers say the mom took a picture of the man with her cell phone, but when she tried to take more he knocked the phone out of her hand and pushed her to the ground.
Investigators say the man took off and was last seen getting into a late model black Ford Mustang.
He is described as a white male 5’7″ to 5’10” tall with dark colored hair.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to cal the Sandy Police Department at 801-568-7200 or at the anonymous tip line 801-568-INFO.
