Logan man killed in single-vehicle rollover on SR 91

BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A 26-year-old Logan man died after a single-vehicle rollover in Sardine Canyon Tuesday night. 

Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 6 p.m. when Broc M. Riley of Logan was driving a 2003 Mercury Sable southbound on SR 91 at milepost 8 and was traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving in between other cars.

Riley hit the center cement divider and traveled back across both southbound lanes and off the shoulder, jumping a large ditch and into the mountainside. 

Riley was wearing a seat belt but was partially ejected and died on impact. 

Troopers said they found evidence at the scene that alcohol may also be a factor in the crash but the crash is still under investigation.
