LOGAN, Utah (News4Utah) –  Logan City Council just approved a substantial water rate hike within the city Tuesday.

Water prices within Logan City limits will go up by 35 percent.

The change goes into effect next month for residential properties and July 1 for the rest of Logan.

After this first year, water reserves and prices will be evaluated and then increased again if necessary.

Right now, it is projected that water prices in Logan will raise an additional 3 percent each year for the next four years.
