SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- The World Mission Society Church of God in Salt Lake City has been awarded the gold lever President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Cassy Goldspring is member of the church. SHE says to receive gold, the group has to complete 1,000 volunteer hours with each member contributing at least 25 hours toward that total.

“It is the most prestigious award given by the office of the US President to volunteers or volunteer groups,” SHE said.

Goldspring says the church volunteers on a local and global level.

“Each year we host a large blood drive and have donated over 250 pints of blood-saving approximately 750 people in SLC! We also hold blanket drives, conduct clean up movements in the environment, and join in food banks,” SHE said.

Goldspring says the church volunteers on a global level.

As a whole, the World Mission Society Church is devoted to volunteer community service. There is more than 8,000 branches in 175 countries all throughout the world.
