A Utah lawmaker wants there to be more transparency at animal shelters across the nation.

Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City, introduced Senate Bill 155 on February 11. The bill calls for mandated public reports detailing the number of animals taken in, how the shelter obtained each animal, and the number of animals that died or were euthanized by the shelter each month.

The bill has not had a full hearing in committee at this time. You can read the full language of the bill here.
