LDS missionaries involved in serious crash near Utah/Idaho border

PRESTON, Idaho (News4Utah) – Four LDS missionaries serving in the Utah Logan Mission were involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 91 near Preston, Idaho, a Church spokesperson said.

Daniel Woodruff with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said all four missionaries are expected to recover, but the driver and a passenger in another vehicle were killed.

“Our hearts go out to their families and loved ones at this tragic time,” said Woodruff.

The missionaries involved were identified as:

  • Elder Charly Sistrunk, 67, and his wife, Sister Debra Owens Sistrunk, 62, both from Preston, Idaho
  • Elder Elijah Wall, 19, from Kentucky
  • Elder William Wilson, 18, from Kentucky

The victims killed in the crash have not yet been identified.
