Latter-day Saints leaders change age requirement for youth progression

Local News

Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced changes to their youth program Friday.

Currently, children will typically complete Primary and begin attending Sunday School and the Beehive class or deacons quorum when they are 12 years old.

Likewise, young women will typically progress between Young Women classes and young men between Aaronic Priesthood quorums when they turn 14 and 16.

Beginning in January 2019 young church members will transition to their next class the January of the year they turn 12, 14, or 16 instead of waiting for their birthday.
