ALTA CANYON, Utah (News4Utah) – A likely human-caused avalanche was triggered in a closed area of Alta Canyon Ski resort on Sunday morning.

According to the Utah Avalanche Center, the avalanche started about 10:30 a.m. and ran 1000″ over cliff bands. As the sun warms up the snow surface, the center said the recent storm snow will become reactive.

No one appears to have been caught and there are no injuries reported.
