HUNTINGTON CANYON, Utah (ABC4 News) – A large avalanche occurred Tuesday afternoon in Huntington Canyon, according to officials.
It happened on the slopes above Chute Campground but officials say it did not close State Route 31.
The avalanche, however, deposited debris in Huntington Creek, according to officials. They say the slide was about 200 yards wide between 30 and 40 feet deep.
Authorities say, because of warmer weather conditions snow in the Canyon is unstable. They advise that those who travel in Huntington Canyon must use caution and stay on the road.
This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
