VERNAL (ABC4 News) – Police announced charges against a juvenile in connection with a triple stabbing in Vernal.
In September 2018, Vernal police said a single suspect unknown to the victims, broke into their house and stabbed all three people inside multiple times.
Two of the victims were treated for extensive injuries, and a third victim, CalDee Reynolds, later died due to his injuries.
Police said the investigation identified the suspect as a male juvenile. They determined that the juvenile suspect was arrested on unrelated charges shortly after the stabbing.
On Thursday, formal charges were filed in the 8th District Juvenile Court against the juvenile suspect for murder, two counts of attempted murder, and burglary.
According to police, the suspect will remain in custody pending further court proceedings.
Law enforcement officials said they were certain that the community has been safe, and that’s while they remained quiet about the investigation until formal charges were filed.
